In Whanganui's main street, around the Countdown area, there is a mostly white blackbird. It has been seen over the last couple of months and is actually a very attractive bird. Colour aberration in birds is uncommon, but due to blackbird numbers, a part-white bird is seen somewhere most years in our area, even if it has just a couple of white feathers.
