An Old Friend Returns

For the 12th consecutive summer the godwit flagged AJD is back on the Whanganui River Estuary, proving once again he is a creature of habit and routine. Since he left in March he will have clocked up more kilometers than I do in my car in a year - possibly some 28,000 of them, in his journeys to and from the Arctic. After about two and half months at Foxton he moved over here to Whanganui on December 14, where he will stay until his departure for the Yellow Sea on March 25, 2020.
