I know of no other place to get so close, so easily, to a range of sea birds, as off the Kaikoura Coast. A selection of albatrosses is always guaranteed, along with other petrels & shearwaters, depending on the time of year. Last week we got close up to a Southern Royal Albatross, the bird with the greatest wingspan, and its size at close range was very impressive.
