Our special godwit AJD has been photographed back at Foxton on 14 October 2026, so he now begins his 19th annual migration circuit. Very exciting. Jane and I spent three hours at Foxton on Monday but failed to find him. He would have been there, but due to the very low, high tide, the birds were distant. I got close to one group by walking out on the mud, but there was still another group I was not able to view. We plan to return early next week when the tides are more suitable.
